Sewadar Camp 2007 - FANTABULOUS

Last weekend was a thrilling weekend. It was Sewadar Camp 2007 at Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. It was really cold as it was the raining season. The trip up there was good as we had a fantabulous driver. Everyone was tired as most of us had to rush after work to meet at Sabha House. The moment we arrived, we got ourselves some hot coco (Milo-la), choose our sleeping places (good thing the girls got the rooms!), chatted a while then dozed off as soon as our heads hit the pillows! In the morning, I took a shower with the cold freezing water of Camerons so that I won't feel that cold the whole day. I know you don't believe me – but “Eureka!!” it works!!. You will never know till you try it. Bal K followed my advice and actually realized that I was right. =)

Anyway the first day was awesome. Hip Hip Hooray for Sanjay. He is gifted to make his sessions so exciting and extraordinary. I still can laugh thinking about the “Dare” session.

Day 1 - activity lead by Mr Romeo.

I was in Aunty Sam's Group (ASAM)--great people can make a great group, what else can I say. Every group discussion was so hot and spicy. I love this group and miss them already. Another session was the age train with the aim to tear a paper in the absence of anyone. Well I know we had a bit of a different concept but we ROCKED as we were the only group that went back to the starting line using reverse gear!!! Hehe.. Not to forget the joke of the activity, hand getting misplaced from right shoulder to the left shoulder.

Aunty Sam Group - derived from last years Uncle Sam.

The next day’s discussion was more on how to improve the Samelan. Gosh! ASAM really had some real bright ideas. Some ideas were to be proud of and others were purely just for a big laughs. The best were the logistic boys' requests. Wah Kah Kah. Our best member was JAG!

DAY 2 - after our last challege and kirtan antakshri!

JAG - our smart champion on the last day!

JAG - loved by all.

Of course we also have our group photos:

The best part of all, the trip back to KL. It was Fuhyoo....Someone who drives a four-wheel drive suggested we use a different route to escape the traffic. He suggested that we take the route through Raub. Well our organizer had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Soon after having our so called 'gotong-royong', we all jumped into 3 vans, 1 juara @ 'DEBBA' and 2 cars, happily starting our journey back, completely oblivious of what was yet to come…. Jey and me thought of dozing off in the van through-out the journey as we slept late the night before ………… Our wishes were in vain……

The vans followed by THE CHAMPION "JUARA".

The first obstacle, a huge pot-hole!!! Gosh! My brother had to jump offroad to help hold the side mirror of Amreek's car so that the car can squeeze thru the narrow road. That was just the beginning....We even witnessed 'car on two wheels', what a sight! 2nd, 3rd and 4th obstacles all involves pot holes, pot holes and more potholes. The whole situation felt like as if we were on a boat during a stormy sea!! Swaying left and right for almost 2 hours!! Luckily no one vomitted this time (wink**)

The Juara was the best, it went through the pot holes with no problem at all. It was the real champian on the bumpy road. I will never underestimate the Juara again..

What the cars had to go through! PHEW!!!

Finally! Civilization! Road!

I believe this camp has given us a lot to reflect upon. Especially self realization on how to be good role models. It has really brought many of us nearer to Waheguru and with Waheguru's blessing may we stick to our commitments and be better human beings.

Waheguru Tera Shuker Hai.
