Jagjit's Surprise Birthday

Hey, the birthday songs for Jagjit are not over yet!
After all the planning that Teno had been doing for weeks wasn't for nothing....

Flashback!!!

At Sungai Besi gurdwara, after makan makan and chit chat session...Everyone had a worry look on their face. Jagjit was still with us and asking us "Where are we going next???" Well, as per Teno's plans, we all meet up at her place and surprise Jagjit, but we couldn't take Jagjit along with us!

We didn't know what to tell him! So everyone started saying let's go home la. Tired la. Poor Jagjit, he was planning to hang around with us longer but looks like everyone seems to be tired and plan to go home. He had no clue at all of Teno's plans.

Then he found out that Amreek and a few of the rest were going to Assuntha Hospital to donate blood. He also joined them. Phew! What a relief but another problem arised!
How was the rest who were going to the hospital going to adjourn off to his place without him knowing.

So all were a bit confused on what were we surposed to do and where we were surposed to go. With jagjit around we had to catch every little glipse of whisphering chance to plan it out. So there it was, plan made! Those not donating blood meet at sabha house, hang out there till further notice.

As we were leaving, I was terrified as Jagjit was just driving behind my car. We hoped, he didn't realize the route we were taking - which was to sabha house or don't he follow us all the way! Every turn I took, I would look behind to see if he is still there...Finally our paths parted and I was much more relaxed.

At sabha house, we were hanging out for quite a long long time....Of course what would we be doing there..PING PONG!!!

Again and again the phone will ring notifying about Jagjit's. The blood donation line very long! His turn next! He is on the BED already! HA HA! Jagjit still did not get a hint even though the rest told him to go ahead in the line before the rest.
Unfortunately I was not there to catch a glimpse of the situation there.

Once Jagjit was on the bed donating blood, we stated leaving to the planned meeting venue...JAGJIT's HOUSE!!!

So the waiting starts...TIC TOC TIC TOC....

Where's Jagjit!!! He is such a nice person, of course he will wait for the others once he has done donating. Why didn't we think of that!!!

While waiting, why not take more picture. I think at this point of time Ajit is really tired!

These three was extremely into the conversation. Satpal was going on and on about something! Thasy could not take his ears off but Ajeet managed to get his head turned for the picture.

Here Jivan was holding Ajit hand because he was trying to disturb the picture of her with Jey. Well I taught, might as well put him in the picture then.

Where is Jagjit? Everyone was getting impatient. There were still a few more to go in the line to donate blood. Without waiting any longer Teno taught up of a brilliant idea to get Jagjit back home as soon as possible. She asked her father to call him and demand him to get back ASAP. I think the reason was "I need you to go to the bank" Well mana la ada bank open on Sunday, but Jagjit didn't think of it at that time. Jagjit's mom was saying that Jagjit knows that there were some relative coming over, so he might have suspected a small family surprise birthday party.
But who knows what was in him mind?

THE MOMENT WE WERE WAITING.....SURPRISE!!!
And we started singing Happy Birthday again.
Jagjit just stood still trying to figure out what was hapenning.
He was in shock and speechless!
Ram had to stand right at that particular time when I was taking this shot ... luckily Jagjit's face was not blocked.

Jagjit, Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuu....!

Ok, a silent moment there, giving Jagjit to process the shock. He must be wondering...."Is this my house?...If it is what are all these people doing here?....Hmm....And they said they were tired and wanted to go home?....AND DAD WHICH BANK TO GO?"

He really looked LOST!

Since the waiting is over, finally charge on the food!!!

Opps, interuption in between the birthday...Introducing LOKI....
A DOG or GOD OF MISCHIEFS????
Should have seen what he did to his buddy male dog when he was set loose.

Ok, sorry about that, back to the birthday! Oh here we have the birthday boy....WITH A BIG SMILE...looking at his cake approaching!

What a lovely cake!

And for the final time this YEAR....we sang him his birthday song!

AHA, we did not forget banana. Teno had it all prepared - bananas and also another cake - "BANANA CAKE".

Here we have Teno busy cutting the cake for us!

I think all could not wait for the cake to come to them, so all went to Teno! Ha Ha Ha !

Last but the best, the main sole organizer of this event..TENO. I know I know we finished all the cake already!

Jag-Updesh's Programme

Nearly everyone who went to the Sewadar Camp knew about Jag's program. SMSes and emails were flying days before to remind everyone about it. We all were planning to attend it but I am sure those who were not there had valid reasons for not coming. So here's a glimpse of what you missed...

There was also a hidden agenda behind it all......Jagjit's birthday!!!!!
No la, for him Teno had other plans! We celebrated Taran's birthday!

Surprise....!?!?!

I think she didn't know anything about it....but hmmm...maybe not looking at all the hu ha we had....I think she had smoe idea what was coming up. Right after Jag's program which went very well, we all started lepaking... Taran keep all asking us, let's eat la, we were like, wait la! lepak la!...then we found a reason....NEREMAL

Neremal, Neremal, instead of coming to Sungai Besi Shappa he went to Kuyoh Gurdwara.
What a joker, my brother? Anyway we used him as an excuse to delay the eating?

So here's a picture of some of us lepaking! But wait a minutes where are all these people looking at ?!?

AHA! These three really got everyone's attention. I wonder why???
Jagjit if full of smiles as he had a fantastic birthday yesterday and felt that it was time to get someone else...

THE GALS...I love this picture....look like very good girls la!

Surprise!!!!! Taran all blushing and carrying the knife to slaughter the lovely cake.
Ok, we lied about waiting for Neremal, can't wait for him any longer...

Aik!!! Jagjit again!!! Aduh!!! But this time no banana for him, just a joint bithday song and cake cutting with Taran...

Then comes the feeding part....yum yum cake...when is it gonna reach my mouth.
You can see Esha feeding Taran but look at Deepa and my eyes....CAKE!!! HUNGRY!!!

Of course Jagjit get's his share too....and what an honour, Jag fed him with love.
Now Bal K is already drooling for a byte...

Well it was because of Jag's programme we all got together in Sungai Besi Shappa. So we decided we need a speech from him, and here it goes..."Ahem, thank you everyone, for coming........" It was a very good speech that Taran could not hold her tears back....

Here the rest of the gang watching and taking pictures. Even though Ajeet was right at the back, he was determined to have a good view of everything that was going on.

Hey, I didn't don't remember Ram giving a speech...Hmmm..
I must be really really into getting the cake now...

And then the champion arrives...very early I would say!
HA HA, we made him give a speech too...

Wah wah kya bat hai....posing terror!

Well how can we be left behind in posing. Security penji Amit, with a knife!!! Very very dangerous! I think that's why Esha nearly jumped on me.

Wow...the whole group picture!!! Cake also finish =(

Then finally, we left to take our lunch. Well everyone was so hungry, no one had time to take a photograph or us eating. Only when perut sudah kenyang, photo shots started again...

Neremal enjoying the punjabi patta menja!

And here the last picture.....what a pose!

Watching Laaga Chunari Mein Daag

What a movie?

And what a group that watched it?

Saturday night...
There were 30 of us in the same cinema!!!
Well Phobin and I bought tickets for 19 of us at first, but then Bal S bought another 7 for his family. Later another 2 couple joined us. So you do the calculations yourself. Best of all it was Jagjit's birthday!!!

Phobin and I, met up earlier at noon to buy the tickets. It took us a crazy 2 HOURS!!! to confirm with everyone. Most of the time we were on the phone and driving round and round the area. Whoa!!!

The movie was at PJ State 9pm, so plan was to meet up at Lotus 7pm for dinner before the movie. Well of course the first to reach were the organizers. Phobin, Jey, Rohana, Bal S and Me!!!

Here is a display of all the tickets we bought - including Bal S family's tickets. Wow! It was the first time I actually paid RM 190 for movie tickets. I don't mind doing it again since everyone paid back their ticket money to me. =P

Slowly, bit by bit, everyone actually made it there on time. Including the loving couple Amreek and Manwant.

Of course, we did not forget Jagjit, the birthday boy. I really don't know why but his birthday was filled with lots and lots of bananas. At lotus, they ordered a banana and some of the guys started feeding him. We all sang the famous birthday song for him!

Just before we got in the cinema, I taught it would be great to get a group photo. There should be 19 of us in the photo....Hmmm...only 16. Where the other 3??? My sister Jusprith was taking photo. Left another 2??? Oh ya, Manwant and Vishal...must be in the line to get pop corns.

In the cinema, all getting comfortable in their seats...
The whole 2 rows we OURS... =)
Everyone was disturbing Bal S because his parents were sitting above us in the cinema!

-The End-
And yet the beginning of another birthday song for Jagjit!
He ran down to the exit but ended up getting birthday wishes from strangers.

Movie out mamak in. Yes yes yes, we ended up at PJ mamak.
Of course, we dragged Jagjit along, you can already guess what we were about to do to him, at this point of time.
Everyone checking their messages and miss calls....I think.

Hmmm....It was the first time some of us trying out Milo Shake...WOW, good but THICK!

Inderpal excitedly grinning at the back and Mike wondering why am I taking his picture....For my blog lah duh!

Rohana and Jey posing!

And the 'finale', another birthday song for Jagjit and not forgetting the banana. Well I guess he had enough so he started feeding the rest. Go ahead, Amreek's not watching!

Well chit chat, makan makan, then half went back. The rest started ghost stories which finally scared everyone back home!

Hope to have an outing such as this again in the future.

Sewadar Camp 2007 - FANTABULOUS

Last weekend was a thrilling weekend. It was Sewadar Camp 2007 at Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. It was really cold as it was the raining season. The trip up there was good as we had a fantabulous driver. Everyone was tired as most of us had to rush after work to meet at Sabha House. The moment we arrived, we got ourselves some hot coco (Milo-la), choose our sleeping places (good thing the girls got the rooms!), chatted a while then dozed off as soon as our heads hit the pillows! In the morning, I took a shower with the cold freezing water of Camerons so that I won't feel that cold the whole day. I know you don't believe me – but “Eureka!!” it works!!. You will never know till you try it. Bal K followed my advice and actually realized that I was right. =)

Anyway the first day was awesome. Hip Hip Hooray for Sanjay. He is gifted to make his sessions so exciting and extraordinary. I still can laugh thinking about the “Dare” session.

Day 1 - activity lead by Mr Romeo.

I was in Aunty Sam's Group (ASAM)--great people can make a great group, what else can I say. Every group discussion was so hot and spicy. I love this group and miss them already. Another session was the age train with the aim to tear a paper in the absence of anyone. Well I know we had a bit of a different concept but we ROCKED as we were the only group that went back to the starting line using reverse gear!!! Hehe.. Not to forget the joke of the activity, hand getting misplaced from right shoulder to the left shoulder.

Aunty Sam Group - derived from last years Uncle Sam.

The next day’s discussion was more on how to improve the Samelan. Gosh! ASAM really had some real bright ideas. Some ideas were to be proud of and others were purely just for a big laughs. The best were the logistic boys' requests. Wah Kah Kah. Our best member was JAG!

DAY 2 - after our last challege and kirtan antakshri!

JAG - our smart champion on the last day!

JAG - loved by all.

Of course we also have our group photos:

The best part of all, the trip back to KL. It was Fuhyoo....Someone who drives a four-wheel drive suggested we use a different route to escape the traffic. He suggested that we take the route through Raub. Well our organizer had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Soon after having our so called 'gotong-royong', we all jumped into 3 vans, 1 juara @ 'DEBBA' and 2 cars, happily starting our journey back, completely oblivious of what was yet to come…. Jey and me thought of dozing off in the van through-out the journey as we slept late the night before ………… Our wishes were in vain……

The vans followed by THE CHAMPION "JUARA".

The first obstacle, a huge pot-hole!!! Gosh! My brother had to jump offroad to help hold the side mirror of Amreek's car so that the car can squeeze thru the narrow road. That was just the beginning....We even witnessed 'car on two wheels', what a sight! 2nd, 3rd and 4th obstacles all involves pot holes, pot holes and more potholes. The whole situation felt like as if we were on a boat during a stormy sea!! Swaying left and right for almost 2 hours!! Luckily no one vomitted this time (wink**)

The Juara was the best, it went through the pot holes with no problem at all. It was the real champian on the bumpy road. I will never underestimate the Juara again..

What the cars had to go through! PHEW!!!

Finally! Civilization! Road!

I believe this camp has given us a lot to reflect upon. Especially self realization on how to be good role models. It has really brought many of us nearer to Waheguru and with Waheguru's blessing may we stick to our commitments and be better human beings.

Waheguru Tera Shuker Hai.

Weekends Planning

Whenever I get together with my best friend J, we tend to have a really busy schedule planned. Wether we go accordingly to it or not, thats a totally different matter. We like to think of it as "go with the flow". Ha Ha. So what's our plans? Movies, shopping and chatting. He he. On top of our list is Laaga Chunari Mein Daag!

So, after I watch it I hope to write something about the movie.

I Am Back!

A long time has passed and I went thru a journey like no other. The curves and bends of life is so unique and wonderful that I can dwell into just thinking about it for hours and hours. I have learned so much but sad that I had left the blog deserted for such a long time. Looking at what I had blogged in the past let me reflect upon myself. It brings back sweet and sour memories of the past. I can't believe it that it has been more than one year now since I last blogged. So now pledge to myself, to try my best to get back on the bloggers tracks again.

Welcome Back Salprith!

Fleeting Time

A pocket of time, maybe in your busy day
begs you spend some time at prayer and play,
your friends come and want to say
come outside, enjoy the sunny day,
the air is clean and the weather good
come outside, you know you should,
take the time to play and grow
all your surroundings will please you so,
time is important and needs to pass too
the sounds of nature and God's love for you,
drift with the time and play with life,
trust the adventure never fills with strife
a time forgotten in one's older mind
of when we were litle and life was so kind,
hold that thought within your mind's grasp,
tis the sound of youth, it passes so fast,
lock your mind on bigger, bible goals,
to reach for life and all it holds,
your mind flashes to thoughts so bold
to fun and friends, and always truth,
then we know life's sounds never go
they just move with the current in life's flow,
take your time and listen long,
the fleeting moment of youth's soft song,
ask not why and when your soul must fly
take life on earth until the final cry
the days of life will come and truly go
earth's time tis but one short grand show,
be of good cheer and fear your soul not,
God's eternal life is always ahead of man's clock.

Lucky Day

What a lucky day for me!

I wanted to attend a training at 6.30pm. I was so excited and planned the whole day. After work, at 6 sharp I shall drive straigt there. Then, at work the disaster happenned. My boss told me that I would have to follow him to a meeting which was in Shah Alam. He says it was 4-6pm. Obviously, by the time I get back it would be late. I was thinking how unlucky I was and went along to the meeting. But I goes I taught wrong, I was lucky as the training was cancelled. YAY.

Hmmm....then now I'm wondering??? When will the training be?

HAPPY VAISAKHI

Vaisakhi or Baisakhi is the most important occasion in the Sikh calendar. It is the Sikh New Year festival and is celebrated on April 13 or 14. In 1699 the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa in front of thousands at Anandpur Sahib. Gudwaras are decorated and visited. Parades, dancing and singing happen throughout the day. Many Sikhs choose to be baptised into the Khalsa brotherhood on this day.

PJ Vasakhi Mela

Yesterday, 9th April 2006 ... there was a Vasakhi Mela at PJ Gurdwara. Well I wanted to go early since it was starting at 9am. But =) I came back very very late the night before partying and chatting with friends. I actually came back 6 am ... new bad record for non work reasons. Naughty me. Gosh so sleepy forced myself to wake up at about 12pm. Got ready and drove there, taking along mom and sis.

I taught I can go and book the futsal court for the coming game but I ended up lost in some housing area. At night I came home and checked google earth and then only realizad which road I missed. So since we couldn't find the place, we went to the Mela right away. Wow, quite a crowd...not bad. Didn't really enjoy because I didn't get down and dirty on the field. Anyway I bought VCDs..... A collection for my dear DADDY - 5 hindi old movies. Also bought the historical Bhagat Singh, a new movie and Rang De Basanti. Hmmm.... I would say it was quite a good offer...with 2 Audio CDs free, a poster and 3 movie tickets to watch a latest movie in KLCC. HA HA HA.

PENDING VCD PICS

After that, we had to go to a relative's house and then after sending mom and sis home, sadly I had to get back to work. Technical error...damn I hate it. Luckily I didn't have to stay over night. At half past midnight, reached home and slept.

Wedding Dinner

Oh I'm so dizzzzy...
Yesterday morning, Saturday morning..so relaxing...and today so tiring. Night family went to Hulu Yam for a wedding dinner. All the time I was thinking a cousins wedding suddenly not related at all. My mom's childhood friend's son's wedding. How nice of them to invite us. I was a lovely wedding dinner. The bridegroom sang a lovely song for his bride welcoming her to his life. They had an ongoing slide show too. Lovely pictures of the bride and groom.

I was so happy to see my friend there. First thing she asked me was..."Are you related?", ha ha ha what a small world...well I wasn't related and she was...just great. Anyway when the dance floor openend...yay...I had my friend to dance with till breathless. Well we could go on dancing all night...but I had to think about poor DAD who had to go to work the next morning. So we stopped and went looking for him...and of course abvious place to find him...sleeping in the car. Pity him...ok go home right away...and I'm driving. Reached home ... I cabut with friends ... HE HE.
