Happy Birthday, Bella!

Today, we celebrate you — a woman who brings joy, warmth, and fun everywhere she goes. You’re caring, thoughtful, and truly wonderful to be around. It’s no surprise that your presence instantly brightens any room. You’re the kind of person whose energy makes people smile, whose kindness makes people feel seen, and whose laugh is basically a form of therapy.

This year is extra special — your first birthday as my younger brother’s wife. Watching the two of you begin this new chapter has been heartwarming, and I’m so happy to welcome you fully into the family. May this chapter be filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories that grow richer with time.

Your active, healthy lifestyle is truly inspiring, from your love for runs and walks to the calm and balance you find in nature. Keep it up, Bella — the way you look after your health and happiness is truly admirable, and it shows.

On your special day, I wish you all the wonders of the world. May life continue to surprise you with joy, bless you with peace, and reward you with everything your heart dreams of. You deserve every bit of goodness coming your way.

Happy Birthday, beautiful Bella! 💕

Keep shining, keep laughing, and keep being the incredible person you are.

Diwali Birthday Double Dhamaka

This year, we decided to celebrate Diwali together with my daughter, Perleen’s birthday since her big day fell just one day before the festival. It felt special combining both occasions, and honestly, it made the whole celebration even more meaningful.

Last year’s Diwali was unforgettable — I took the kids on a train ride all the way to Kangar, Perlis. It was such an adventure! A proper Bhoot Diwali story that I should really write about someday to keep those memories alive.

But this year… this year we had a proper DHAMAKA.

We made cookies together — which of course ended in flour everywhere but also lots of laughter. We had games, excitement, and a house full of cheerful chaos.

We also had our family, relatives, friends, work friends, and even the kids’ school friends join us. The house was bursting with joy, noise, and so much love — just the way Diwali should feel.
We even catered food, so no stress… just good vibes and great food.

And then came the highlight — the birthday cake for our little Perleen, surrounded by family and friends, candles, and big smiles. Her cake had an accident, Rumi was on fire!!! More drama... but the Demon Hunters rocked!!!

Delicious Cake by Kul Cakes.

Kids also enjoyed the party games. Thank you to my sister, Jusprith to help in that!

Mummies also know how to party ok...

Most importantly, thank God it didn’t rain. Waheguru truly blessed us with a beautiful day filled with light, warmth, and togetherness. After the crowd subsided, the kids continued on playing fireworks.

A celebration of Diwali, a celebration of life, and a celebration of our sweet girl growing another year older — truly, a day to remember.

It's my birthday!!!

My birthday, my birthday ... YA BA DA BA DOOOO!!!

I know, I know, no one believes I'm 31!

My birthday was fun...I went to work! Seriously I had fun???
Why! Let me explain, after lunch, while waiting for the lift suddenly the electricity went off. So basically we were at 3rd floor and the lifts not working...
For those who don't know...I work on the 40TH FLOOR!!!!

So we hanged out downstairs... for an hour before we got back to work, that is when the electricity was back. =) It would really been a workout climbing 40 floors... =P

Of course when I got back, I celebrated with my family...

Blogging...

Been so busy with so many things...I left out so many things on my blog such as Mini Samelan at JB, Trip to Singapore, movie outings.....and birthdays. What a waste. My camera got hijacked by my brother...still waiting for it to get back to it's rightful owner.

So sad I think I'll just leave it out and keep on writing about the next events..

Here's just a recap of JuLy...

1st week a rush at work to clear up 4 server which were to be written off....backing up and moving files....the task was not too difficult...the stress was just the time it was taking to move the files. I started doing it months ago but still have not completed it. And I had to finish it before the weekend because I planned a trip to Singapore with J to surprise Uncle Dina for his birthday. So after work, my friends and I met up at Strawberry Fields to celebrate Sunil's birthday!!! He was a pain in the ass. Planned a trip away to Pangkor for his birthday to avoid us. Luckily thanks to J, she managed to get him to meet us up the night before. So 12 midnight we got him to cut his cake and said our byes.

Saturday movie day out....WANTED...super action pack!!! Me, J, Jus, Ner, Shiva, Sakthi and VK.
Dinesh last minute backed out..."YOU OWE US A MOVIE!!" After the wonderful movie, dinner and chit chat... We had a good laugh talking about my problem waking up in the morning and going to work in time....I BETTER WORK ON THAT!!!

I was staying over at J's place, so we got back and did the last minute packing, and J had some office work to finish up...while waiting for her, I knocked out on the couch and woke up at 5am hearing her father up and J was still doing her work. Finally I decided to get some sleep in J's bed....about 1 hour and then had to wake up to get ready....I can't understand why I can wake up early elsewhere but not when I am at home. Basically J had no sleep at all!

Sunday morning 7:30 am, so sleepy and we got on the bus to Singapore. Just J and me... 1hour complete knock out and then on and off till touchdown....J's uncle (Uncle Dina's brother-in-law) picked us up and took us to his house to get ready for the party Uncle Dina (J's mama).

While we had our lunch...SHOCKING!!! J's grandfather was at the door staring at us...
He wasn't supposed to know that we are in Singapore..OPPPSSS...We did not tell him about it because we didn't want him to accidentally inform his son about it. We had a few hours so I as planning to SLEEP... J said she wanted to chat with her cousins but she will follow me to the bedroom to keep the bags. But when she saw the bed ...KABOOM DUSH...KNOCKOUT...

So we had a good sleep, woke up a bit late, rushed getting all dressed and left for the occasion. The plan was everyone meet at the venue. Uncle Dina and his wife will come there to attend a wedding registration. Ha ha....He is up for a surprise... The attendance was overwhelming, relatives and friends....all there. It was all planned by his Wife....she did a splendid preparation. When Uncle Dina came out of the lift, there were bhangra dhols...he was shocked trying to explain to them that he was not the groom....Aunty was cool, she just told him to keep quiet and go with the flow.

Surprise!!!!...120++ people welcomed him....
Ok, then I guess the normal ... cut cake, presentation, speeches, games and dance.
It was all perfect. The MC for the day was Uncle Kannan, he was marvelous. The best speech was by Uncle Dina's friend/co-worker... Akram...HA HA HA... You see they were all lawyers...and Akram told the story about Uncle Dina when he had an argument with the judge. He kept on going "Your Honour, but you Accused me!!! The phone was ringing. If a phone is ringing, you are supposed to answer it! And the phone was ringing!!!" Ha ha ha....

The next day was just lepaking....and Tuesday was already time to go home. That's all about the trip to Singapore.

Once I got back it was back to back birthdays. Caca,Mom,Masi,Pua...

8 JUL 2008 Caca Sukhwin
9 JUL 2008 Mom, Huat Neo, Sangeeta, Shiva's mom
10 JUL 2008 Masi Ranmit, Pua Pemmi

Mom's birthday was simple...all got back after work...dad bought a cake and sister made a cake. We sang the birthday song, candles were blown and the cakes were cut....then it was family eat out. Mom's choice...simple keiw tiau!!!

Then yesterday 13 JUL 2008, puaji Pemmi had her 50th birthday celebration. It was relatives and friend get together at a small sports club where we played pool and danced... By the time we reached home and got to bed it was 2am already. And yes obviously I will woke up late the next day...I won't tell you what time I woke up today....but I am planning to go to work on time or even earlier tomorrow.

Okay that's all for now.. hopefully the next event I have my camera with me and have the time to blog about it.... chiau...

Neremal's Birthday Long Wait

New Year and the first birthday coming on the list....my dear brother's.

29th JANUARY 2008

We were trying to plan a good nice surprise for him but he had to disappear of to Singapore. Well It's not actually his fault....he had work. He had to go with his boss to Singapore. Of we forgive you....but still...tak boleh la kalau tak buat ape ape...??!?!?!?!?

So plan was ... to give him a surprise once he gets back from Singapore...The worst part was that he was uncontactable....we had no idea what time he was reaching back....we dont even know what time he was leaving Singapore and if he and his boss were gonna stop somewhere for food on the way. Everyone tension je...

So I just spread out a message saying meet at my place at 9pm ... as i remember .. was it...ok..whateva. Then about 7pm we managed to get Neremal... HA HA just leaving Singapore....there goes our plan in the drain....but WAIT! we still did not GIVE UP!!!

So had to counter our plan....sent out messages saying that time move to 11pm. We were just hoping he would reach in time.

So, obviously many could not make it but still I was glad with the turn out.

We had J, Inderpal, Jagdeep, Phobin, Amreek, Manwant and my family.

When Neremal reached home they all his in the rooms...he was too busy thinking of what is there to eat, when the group came out and surprised him. YAY!

Tuhi Tuhi followed by Sharan's Birthday Surprise

Manpreet Singh from UK or also known as Tuhi Tuhi was down, so I brough J to experience the kirtan in PJ Gurdwara. She enjoyed it... After that we all went to A&W waiting for Sharan to reach there and surprise her. She was with shaheena wandering around. She had a surprise when she saw more that 20 people in A&W to surprise her. Then we had the cake, 1 chocolate and another home made ice cream slurpy cake. Since Sharan loved ice so much, neremal made for her one special cake. She loved both the cakes. She had chocolate all over her face......gosh!!!

Amreek's Surprise Birthday

This was an interesting experience for some of us, as we actually tried cooking something ourselves in sabha house! Well, Manwant's plan was having a surprise birthday party for Amreek at 5pm at sabha house, but plans were changed by time.

What to do!!! Amreek is such a busy person and I don't think Manwant could keep any secrets from her charming husband. They also had a wedding dinner to attend on the same day. After all the brain storming, we finally decided to go to his house and surprise him.

As the initial plan was for pot luck, everyone suppose to chip in and bring something. So we decided why not do something different. Make sandwiches, not any simple sandwich, it was Sukhsharan's mom's special taufu sandwiches. YUM YUM!!!

We first met up at Lotus, everyone was surprised as I had not bought any ingredients yet. I then called Sukhsharan's mom to get the recipe. After that we estimated how much we need to buy and went off shopping. We also bought snacks and stuff to make a&w's float. In half an hour, everyone was back at sabha house.

Let's start COOKING!!!!!

Actually my plan was just to follow the recipe, but the rest had other ideas on how much ingredients should be in. So, light arguments started....No! 5 onions is enough! No! Recipe says 8! No! Not to many chilies! No! Too little garlic...

Well head's off to the chefs....Jasmin and Neremal...they cook like experts!!!
From the smell they can know what is missing...WOW!!!

The taufu sambal went through a lot of plastic surgery before it turned into a delicious dish. Other than the chefs, the rest of us just gave up and sat aside.

Picture of the cooking process will be coming soon...

After making the sambal, everyone was so hungry and tired, so we took a break, had our dinner and back to work....making the sandwiches. By this time everyone else gathered at sabha house already. So with everything packed, we made a move together 'the journey to Amreek's house'. All happily singing through the journey.

It was about 10:30pm and we were about 5 kilometers from Ampang gurdwara. We didn't remember the inner roads to Amreek's house so we plan to meet Baljit at the gurdwara. From there, he will guide us to Amreek's house. We were all confused on how to make it a surprise. Will Amreek be at the house or is he still at the dinner?

Well, I had to call Manwant to find out where they were. So we thought we could reach his house first before him to surprise him. BUT!!?!?!?!!

ALAMAK!!! They were just a kilometer behind us.....AYO YO VERY VERY dangerous....
And where was BALJIT??? Between us and Amreek! GOSH! LAGI TERUK!!!

So thanks to the fast thinking, we detoured to a different route and waited behind a few shop lots for them to go by first. Baljit also joined us because he had to guide us.

GOSH! What a narrow escape! This was really very very close! To be safe, we waited till Amreek was nearby his house.

Then we continued our journey following Baljit. We parked a distance away and walked closer and closer....Then we were right at the front door...it was wide open. Manwant was keeping Amreek busy and we ALL slowly slipped into the living room. The room was half full! I had to use my hand to stop myself from laughing out loud!

When he walked into it we all screamed ... SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!....YAhoo.....He sure was surprised!!!!!

We were glad all the tension was all over......PHEW!

So then after serving the floats to everyone,we started chit chatting while enjoying the snacks and sandwiches.....

OK, tension over, relax....

Cheers Amreek!!!

Sharan and Jey in darlie contest.

Havoc, everyone was so happy!

Amreek, still wondering how everyone got there?

We were planning to leave at 12AM. Well as you can see in the picture, the time was nearly 12AM...but the party just started!

He is excited and waves it in the air according to the birthday song.

Happy Birthday to me......

The cake was home made, one of a kind and delicious.

Jagjit's Surprise Birthday

Hey, the birthday songs for Jagjit are not over yet!
After all the planning that Teno had been doing for weeks wasn't for nothing....

Flashback!!!

At Sungai Besi gurdwara, after makan makan and chit chat session...Everyone had a worry look on their face. Jagjit was still with us and asking us "Where are we going next???" Well, as per Teno's plans, we all meet up at her place and surprise Jagjit, but we couldn't take Jagjit along with us!

We didn't know what to tell him! So everyone started saying let's go home la. Tired la. Poor Jagjit, he was planning to hang around with us longer but looks like everyone seems to be tired and plan to go home. He had no clue at all of Teno's plans.

Then he found out that Amreek and a few of the rest were going to Assuntha Hospital to donate blood. He also joined them. Phew! What a relief but another problem arised!
How was the rest who were going to the hospital going to adjourn off to his place without him knowing.

So all were a bit confused on what were we surposed to do and where we were surposed to go. With jagjit around we had to catch every little glipse of whisphering chance to plan it out. So there it was, plan made! Those not donating blood meet at sabha house, hang out there till further notice.

As we were leaving, I was terrified as Jagjit was just driving behind my car. We hoped, he didn't realize the route we were taking - which was to sabha house or don't he follow us all the way! Every turn I took, I would look behind to see if he is still there...Finally our paths parted and I was much more relaxed.

At sabha house, we were hanging out for quite a long long time....Of course what would we be doing there..PING PONG!!!

Again and again the phone will ring notifying about Jagjit's. The blood donation line very long! His turn next! He is on the BED already! HA HA! Jagjit still did not get a hint even though the rest told him to go ahead in the line before the rest.
Unfortunately I was not there to catch a glimpse of the situation there.

Once Jagjit was on the bed donating blood, we stated leaving to the planned meeting venue...JAGJIT's HOUSE!!!

So the waiting starts...TIC TOC TIC TOC....

Where's Jagjit!!! He is such a nice person, of course he will wait for the others once he has done donating. Why didn't we think of that!!!

While waiting, why not take more picture. I think at this point of time Ajit is really tired!

These three was extremely into the conversation. Satpal was going on and on about something! Thasy could not take his ears off but Ajeet managed to get his head turned for the picture.

Here Jivan was holding Ajit hand because he was trying to disturb the picture of her with Jey. Well I taught, might as well put him in the picture then.

Where is Jagjit? Everyone was getting impatient. There were still a few more to go in the line to donate blood. Without waiting any longer Teno taught up of a brilliant idea to get Jagjit back home as soon as possible. She asked her father to call him and demand him to get back ASAP. I think the reason was "I need you to go to the bank" Well mana la ada bank open on Sunday, but Jagjit didn't think of it at that time. Jagjit's mom was saying that Jagjit knows that there were some relative coming over, so he might have suspected a small family surprise birthday party.
But who knows what was in him mind?

THE MOMENT WE WERE WAITING.....SURPRISE!!!
And we started singing Happy Birthday again.
Jagjit just stood still trying to figure out what was hapenning.
He was in shock and speechless!
Ram had to stand right at that particular time when I was taking this shot ... luckily Jagjit's face was not blocked.

Jagjit, Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuu....!

Ok, a silent moment there, giving Jagjit to process the shock. He must be wondering...."Is this my house?...If it is what are all these people doing here?....Hmm....And they said they were tired and wanted to go home?....AND DAD WHICH BANK TO GO?"

He really looked LOST!

Since the waiting is over, finally charge on the food!!!

Opps, interuption in between the birthday...Introducing LOKI....
A DOG or GOD OF MISCHIEFS????
Should have seen what he did to his buddy male dog when he was set loose.

Ok, sorry about that, back to the birthday! Oh here we have the birthday boy....WITH A BIG SMILE...looking at his cake approaching!

What a lovely cake!

And for the final time this YEAR....we sang him his birthday song!

AHA, we did not forget banana. Teno had it all prepared - bananas and also another cake - "BANANA CAKE".

Here we have Teno busy cutting the cake for us!

I think all could not wait for the cake to come to them, so all went to Teno! Ha Ha Ha !

Last but the best, the main sole organizer of this event..TENO. I know I know we finished all the cake already!
