Shutter Island...It's all about madness!

First of all, Thank you Ben for passing this movie to me to watch.
Even though it was one twisted movie, I did enjoy it.

I just found out that it was initially a novel by Dennis Lehane in 2003.
I love the suspense but my sister concluded before the end that those who were watching were the mad ones! Actors from Gandhi and Titanic did justice to the movie.

WARNING: Those who loves a suspense movie please don't read what is written below ....GO WATCH THE MOVIE!!! When you have watched it then come back and comment on what you think about it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Teddy and his partner goes to this island to solve a missing persons case.
Is the person really missing? Does the person actually exist?
How could the person get out of a closed room? Where could she have gone without her shoes?
Where is the personal doc for the missing person?
What's with all the dreams Teddy seeing? Why is he getting headaches? What's his past like? Is the doctors giving his wrong medicines? Are they trying to poison his mind and make him made?
Is the person he is looking for on that island? Did that person really burn the apartment which killed his wife and three other persons? Who were these three other person?
Who is this unseen guy with a scar? Is this all a trap for him?
Is the doctors all lying? Are they hiding something? Are they doing brain surgery? Where do they do this? Did they do something to the missing person before returning her to her room?
Is his partner trying to make his mad with the doctors? Does his partner really exist?
Is his partner in trouble? Did they brainwash his partner?
Favorite quotes:
We don't know how she got out of her room.
It's as if she evaporated, straight through the walls.
Teddy tells his wife in his illusion:
Baby, I love this because you gave it to me, but it is one fucking ugly tie.
Doc tells Teddy:
You blew up my car. I loved that car.
The best is the last conversation between Teddy and Chuck:
Chuck: How we doing this morning?
Teddy: Good, and you?
Chuck: Can't complain.
Teddy: So what's our next move?
Chuck: You tell me.
Teddy: I gotta get off this rock, Chuck. Get back to the mainland. Whatever the hell's going on here, it's bad. Don't worry partner, they're not gonna catch us.
Chuck: That's right, we're too smart for em.
Teddy: Yeah, we are, aren't we. You know, this place makes me wonder.
Chuck: Yeah, what's that, boss?
Teddy: Which would be worse, to live as a monster or to die as a good man?
Chuck: Teddy.
My conclusion is the he was a patient in the hospital for killing his wife who killed their three kids, but in this dialogue he was cured, he was no more insane thinking that he is a detective looking for the person who killed his wife and is aware of what he did that is killed his wife and burned down the house with his three dead kids in it. He just could not bear living a free life as a monster. Instead he would prefer to die as an insane person....BRILLIANT!
