Keeping Me Mind Busy

The mind is a boundless sky, vast and infinite, capable of harboring storms of thought or shining with the brilliance of ideas. Left idle, it becomes a neglected garden, where the weeds of worry, doubt, and boredom grow unchecked, choking curiosity and imagination. To keep the mind busy is to become its gardener, planting seeds of knowledge, curiosity, and creativity, and tending them with care, patience, and attention.

When we read, write, explore, or solve, we water these seeds; when we reflect or create, we allow sunlight to touch them, letting ideas sprout and blossom. A busy mind is like a river, rushing with energy and purpose, carving paths through the landscapes of thought, shaping perspectives, and carrying dreams to new horizons. In this flow, learning, problem-solving, and imagination are all tributaries, feeding into the endless sea of potential.

Yet busyness is a double-edged sword. A mind that races without pause can become a tempest, swirling in circles of anxiety, distraction, and fatigue. Thoughts may crash like waves against a cliff, leaving no room for reflection or peace. Here, stillness is not weakness—it is a mirror pond, calm and clear, allowing the mind to see itself, to rest, and to gather strength for the next current of activity.

Balance is the art of mindful engagement: to fill the mind with purpose, yet allow it quiet spaces to breathe. Even the most vibrant gardens need shade and soil, even the mightiest rivers need pools to reflect the sun. A mind kept thoughtfully busy is not merely active; it is alive, alert, and attuned to the rhythm of life, capable of creating, learning, loving, and dreaming.

In the end, to keep the mind busy is to honor its vastness, to cultivate its gifts, and to navigate its storms with wisdom. It is to dance with ideas, wrestle with challenges, and pause in silent reflection, knowing that both motion and stillness are threads in the tapestry of a rich, fulfilled mind.

Procrastination

I’ll start tomorrow, I softly say,
As minutes and hours quietly slip away.
A ticking clock with a taunting sound,
While unfinished dreams still wait around.

My lists grow longer, my will feels thin,
I bargain with time I never win.
Yet in each pause, a whisper near—
Begin right now, the start is here.

So one small step, not fast, not grand,
Just courage placed in an open hand.
For tasks delayed and chances won,
All bow at last to the one who’s begun.

Procrastination is not laziness but a behavioral response to negative emotions like anxiety, fear, and stress associated with a task. It's a way of avoiding discomfort, where the brain prioritizes immediate mood regulation over long-term goals, often leading to internal conflict rather than a simple lack of motivation. Laziness, in contrast, is characterized by indifference and a preference for minimal effort, without the internal struggle of wanting to do the task but being unable to start.

ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ - You Are Mine

Sometimes anger shatters my silence,
And your words make my soul turn away.
We become a battlefield against each other,
While quiet tears flow through the night.

Yet this is the truth we don’t admit —
Without you, my days don’t pass.
Even after every argument, my heart says the same:
You are still my love, and you always remain mine.

Petrichor

In Malaysia, rain is not just weather — it is a mood, a memory, a rhythm of life.

I just learned a new word today.  [ “petrichor” ]  Yes! The smell when it rains has a special name. That fresh, earthy scent is called “petrichor”I love the smell of petrichor, its just so refreshing and always lifts my mood.

The rainy season arrives like an old friend who doesn’t knock. One moment the sky is clear, and the next it is painted in shades of grey, the clouds heavy with unshed tears. Then, without warning, it pours. The sound of rain hitting rooftops, roads, and leaves is both chaotic and calming — a familiar song every Malaysian knows by heart.

There is something strangely comforting about rainy days here. The air feels cooler. The world slows down. The streets glisten under the reflection of streetlights. The smell of wet earth rises, fresh and grounding, like nature’s own perfume. Trees bend and dance with the wind, and puddles become mirrors of the sky above. Wah Wah!!!

Of course, the rainy season brings its challenges too — flash floods, traffic jams, muddy shoes, and cancelled plans. Umbrellas become our daily companions, and we learn the art of dodging surprise showers. Yet, even in the inconvenience, there is beauty. Rain teaches patience. It teaches us to pause, to adapt, to appreciate the warmth of our homes, and the safety of shelter.

For children, rain is an invitation to run, splash, and laugh barefoot in the puddles. Sad as time passes, we get more afraid to get in the rain. Either the our immune can't candle it or the rain may be acidic.

For adults, it’s an excuse to slow down, sip something warm, and look out the window lost in thought. It’s a reminder that life, like rain, comes in waves — some heavy, some light — but always with a purpose.

It’s a mixed feeling for me… In our rushing lifestyle, we sometimes forget to take a breather. The recent rainstorms are a reminder to slow down, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa, and sit on the veranda to feel some raindrops. The petrichor smell - calming my nerves...

Diwali Day - More Laughter, More Fun

The next day, even though we were all so tired from the big celebration before, we still kept the festive spirit going. We continued the fun with good company, lots of chit-chat, and some friendly Nintendo challenges that brought out everyone’s competitive side.

It was relaxed, cozy, and full of laughter — the perfect way to wrap up a beautiful festive weekend.

Diwali Birthday Double Dhamaka

This year, we decided to celebrate Diwali together with my daughter, Perleen’s birthday since her big day fell just one day before the festival. It felt special combining both occasions, and honestly, it made the whole celebration even more meaningful.

Last year’s Diwali was unforgettable — I took the kids on a train ride all the way to Kangar, Perlis. It was such an adventure! A proper Bhoot Diwali story that I should really write about someday to keep those memories alive.

But this year… this year we had a proper DHAMAKA.

We made cookies together — which of course ended in flour everywhere but also lots of laughter. We had games, excitement, and a house full of cheerful chaos.

We also had our family, relatives, friends, work friends, and even the kids’ school friends join us. The house was bursting with joy, noise, and so much love — just the way Diwali should feel.
We even catered food, so no stress… just good vibes and great food.

And then came the highlight — the birthday cake for our little Perleen, surrounded by family and friends, candles, and big smiles. Her cake had an accident, Rumi was on fire!!! More drama... but the Demon Hunters rocked!!!

Delicious Cake by Kul Cakes.

Kids also enjoyed the party games. Thank you to my sister, Jusprith to help in that!

Mummies also know how to party ok...

Most importantly, thank God it didn’t rain. Waheguru truly blessed us with a beautiful day filled with light, warmth, and togetherness. After the crowd subsided, the kids continued on playing fireworks.

A celebration of Diwali, a celebration of life, and a celebration of our sweet girl growing another year older — truly, a day to remember.

India Women’s Cricket Team: From Fighting Spirits to World Champions

What a historic, heart-stopping, unforgettable moment for India — our women’s cricket team has finally lifted the World Cup trophy, and the entire nation is celebrating with pride, joy, and immense admiration.

Picture taken from Frontline

This victory isn’t just about winning a championship.
It’s about the journey, the struggles, and the incredible rise of women’s cricket in India.

A Journey Years in the Making

For decades, the Indian women’s team has been pushing boundaries, breaking stereotypes, and proving time and again that they deserve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best.

From the early years when facilities were limited, opportunities were fewer, and recognition was scarce — these women kept fighting. They played with passion, grit, and a love for the game that refused to fade.

And today, that long journey has finally reached its most beautiful milestone; India being World Champions.

Looking Back at the Rise: From Almost There to Finally Here

The journey has been long, with so many close calls along the way.

1997 & 2000 – Reaching the semifinals
2009 – Coming in third
2005 – Finishing as runners-up
2017 – Runners-up again

And now…
Champions. At last.

Every year, every match, every heartbreak built the foundation for today’s glory.

A Proud Moment for Every Indian

Watching the women lift the trophy felt emotional — not just because they won, but because they’ve come such a long way. For years, they carried the weight of expectations without the recognition they deserved. They trained harder than ever. They pushed themselves beyond limits. And today, they’ve shown the world what Indian women are capable of.

This victory is for every young girl who dreams of holding a bat, wearing the blue jersey, representing the nation. It’s proof that dreams come true — with hard work, courage, and faith.
Congratulations, India’s Golden Girls!

You’ve made history.
You’ve made us proud.
And you’ve inspired millions.

Here’s to many more victories, many more records, and a future where women’s cricket shines even brighter.

India. World Champions. Finally. And forever in our hearts.

From Passion to Purpose: Our Journey to Starting Crave4Crystals - PART 1

What started as a personal hobby between my sister and me has grown into something much bigger—a small business built from passion, curiosity, and a love for crystals.

It all began with us exploring crystals for ourselves. We were fascinated by their beauty, energy, and the variety of benefits they were said to bring. As we built our own personal collection, our passion grew. We researched endlessly about the different types of crystals, their origins, and the meanings behind each one.

Then, during the pandemic, an idea struck us: why not share our love for crystals with others by starting an online business? And just like that, the concept for our business was born. We started researching suppliers from various countries, learning to navigate the world of sourcing high-quality crystals. Some suppliers were great, while others weren’t a fit.

We made a conscious decision not to buy in bulk, even though it would have been cheaper. Instead, we wanted to curate our collection personally, choosing each crystal ourselves so that we could offer the very best to fellow crystal lovers like us.

Thus, Crave4Crystals was born. We registered our business, opened a separate bank account, and set off on this new adventure together. It wasn’t easy—since we weren’t running it full-time, we dedicated some of our evenings and weekends to growing the business and building our customer relationship.

But with determination, support from each other, and encouragement from our first customers, our small idea began to flourish. Seeing the joy our crystals brought to others reminded us why we started in the first place.

Lovely Ice cold looking Blue Aragonite rare and calming.

Garden Quartz, mesmerizing scene of nature bringing stability.

Today, Crave4Crystals continues to grow, fueled by the same curiosity and passion that sparked it all. And while the journey hasn’t always been easy, it’s been incredibly rewarding. We look forward to sharing our love for crystals with even more people and continuing this adventure, one crystal at a time.

Although we miss every crystal we sell, we feel blessed to have had the opportunity to spread the energy.

Returning to Writing After a Long Pause

It’s been a long time since I last sat down to write — five years, to be exact.
Life happened. Beautiful, chaotic, exhausting, heart-filling life.

Somewhere between marriage, kids, career and the never-ending rhythm of daily responsibilities, my creative writing took a quiet step back. Not because I stopped loving it, but because life grew louder in other ways.

But today… something in me whispered, It’s time.
So here I am, easing myself back into blogging after years of silence. There’s a bit of nervousness, a bit of excitement, and a whole lot of “finally!”

I’ve had so many ups and downs, so many lessons, and so many memories that never made it to this space. Maybe it’s time to walk down memory lane and capture a few of those moments before they fade. And honestly, I think restarting this blog can help me vent out some stress and simply feel good again. Writing has always been my safe outlet, and I’m ready to reconnect with that part of myself. So here’s to new beginnings, rediscovering old passions, and sharing more often.

If you're reading this… thank you for being here as I start this journey again.
