I think this is over reaction a bit. I’m quite sure majority of non-Indians Malaysian thought it’s the same. Heck, i didn’t know either until now.(Although i do know that Sikh is a religion, not a race, i thnk many Malaysian dun even realized this).

Who’s fault it is? Well, for a start, maybe it’s because our BN Tourism and Culture ministers didn’t promote this information to all the Malaysian properly during the last 50 years? All i saw on RTM and TV3 were only Malay, Chinese and Indian during those feel-good-but-fake-as-hell “racial harmony” promo…..hardly ever a Sikh or a Bengali. Yep. The BN(more specifically UMNO) dun give a shit to others coz they think their votes are insignificant.

Anyway, i won’t be offended if someone mistake me for a Hakka or Hokkien or mistake me for a Christian. What’s the big deal? I’ll just tell them I’m not any of those and proudly tell them I’m Cantonese and a Buddhist.

I think the Sikh community should have taken the chance to correct the MB in good spirits. We’ve just knocked out BN in Perak by a slim margin. Do not waste this golden opportunity and bicker among ourselves over small resolvable matters!!!!

Harjeet Singh reply on April 16, 2008:

That’s a rather biased statement passed by you, Mr.Kitman. Bigotism is running in your blood and may be absence of respect towards others too!

Chinese - may it be Hakka or Hokkien or even Cantonese - they all share the same written language. Chinese’s King had standardized the whole language into a common written script. Not in India. Sikh is a religion and Bengali is a race. The Sikhs have a unique written language that differs from all other Indian language. India is a nation and comprised of numerous of languages and cultures that sometimes are totally strange to even their neigbouring states. Unlike Malaysia, where we learn the common language Malay. You are simply an ignorant sciolist that refuse to learn about anyone else or improve your General Knowledge. Read up more my fellow citizen.

Sikhism is now ranked 5th universal religion in the world. It is funny that you don’t even know that Sikh is a religion. Check your IQ please.

For hundred of years, the SIKHS have been inspiring the world with numerous inventions, discoveries, legacies, morale values and many other actions that are to be proud of and still remained incognitos. The backbone of the whole communication of the world - the FIBER OPTICS were founded and developed by Dr. Narinder Singh Kapany. I am not bragging but showing you an example of ‘wasting the golden opportunity’ as mentioned by you.

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth because of the Blacks freedom. They both had different views - but let’s see now in the United States whereby a Black candidate is now running for the presidency. Do you want to call him a NIGGER??? I don’t think so.

Government has incorporated a few awareness on Sikhism in the Morale studies. So if you are a Chinese, then shame on you for not paying attention in your Morale class.

For an example, do you know the difference between laptop and a PC? Did government promulgated you this in the school for the past 50 years? You learnt it by yourself right? So why blame the tools when you should be the one to be blamed!

It’s easy to condemn than to understand and learn!

The Sikhs have an identity -and it must be respected as we respect all. Calling other people names or slurs are just act of malevolent. Benggali, Kelling, Nigger, Ginger or etc. hurts the feeling of the listener and MUST be avoided at all circumstances. These is not an anachronism.

If the country can only be developed by jokes and slurs (as you have mentioned not to waste this golden opportunity and bicker among small resolvable matters), then you in dire state of Morale values improvement. Learn from the Japanese! You have been living in a shell for too long - jump out to the developing world pro bono publico.

Mini Samelan Kuching

21st, 22nd & 23rd MARCH 2008

Mini samelan Kuching is one memorable samelan!!! All those who went are sure to agree with me. Well, not many know that me and my brother, Neremal, was born in Sibu, Sarawak. I was only in Sawarak for about 4 years before me and my family moved to the peninsular. Going for this samelan was a pleasure for me as I was visiting 'meri des ki dharti', where I was born la. Even though I did not get the chance to go to Sibu, Kuching is close enough, I could touch and smell the land of Sarawak. I miss it already!!!

Let me start our journey from KL. Hovoc incident happen to me.

Actually there were so many people wanted to go for the samelan + I didn't know if I could get leave, so I thought at first I was not going. After persuation from sukhsharan and harkiren, I realized that well I had the change to go. Just as I confirmed my leave, someone backed out and I get to replace her seat. YAY!!!

A day before the flight!!! I had to meet Sukhsharan at KL Sentral Air Asia counter to change the ticket names. I had to give a photocopy of my IC so we took a number and ran to the photocopy shop. Jey was watching and keeping us updated on how many more numbers till our turn. Me and Sukhsharan went to photocopy...we were getting so irritated with the guy there doing his job so so slowly. As he finished, he handed the photocopy to me, I passed it to Sukhsharan and told her to go ahead first as our number was very close, while I went to pay for the photocopy charges. As soon as I paid, I joined them and got all necessary done...

I went home started packing my bag...10pm...11pm...12am..1am...ok I remembered my mom giving me her IC to keep went we went out earlier...so I opened my wallet to get her IC to return to her...

THEN WAS WHEN I REALIZED!!!!

Where is my IC?????? OH NO!!!!

Called Sukhsharan to check if accidently she took it...but nope...confirm it was at the shop. ALAMAK!!!! OH NO!!!! I got to cathc the 4:30am bus from KLSentral to LCCT, and the photocopy shop only opens at 6am!!! My flight is at 7am and how could I board without my IC. Sukhsharan told me if you have your passport it would not be any problem...MY PASSPORT..WHERE IS IT?!?!?....so woke my mom up and started looking....2am...3am...FINALLY FOUND IT....by this time I was dead tired and I was not feeling well...so I took a short nap. Very short nap indeed...next thing I know get ready...and on the bus to the LCCT.

So believe it or not I went to Kuching without my IC!!! HA HA HA...
But one thing I like about using my passport is I get to keep a memory COP in my passport on when I visited Kuching.....

Our flight to Sarawak, we could see sun rise and the flight back we get the see sunset. The kids there are so adorable. I miss them so much....We had a fun filled educated 2 and a half days there. The gurdwara community and the Kuching sangat really were very nice and helped us in all the ways they can. Hopefully I can go for the next samelan there in the future.

Neremal's Birthday Long Wait

New Year and the first birthday coming on the list....my dear brother's.

29th JANUARY 2008

We were trying to plan a good nice surprise for him but he had to disappear of to Singapore. Well It's not actually his fault....he had work. He had to go with his boss to Singapore. Of we forgive you....but still...tak boleh la kalau tak buat ape ape...??!?!?!?!?

So plan was ... to give him a surprise once he gets back from Singapore...The worst part was that he was uncontactable....we had no idea what time he was reaching back....we dont even know what time he was leaving Singapore and if he and his boss were gonna stop somewhere for food on the way. Everyone tension je...

So I just spread out a message saying meet at my place at 9pm ... as i remember .. was it...ok..whateva. Then about 7pm we managed to get Neremal... HA HA just leaving Singapore....there goes our plan in the drain....but WAIT! we still did not GIVE UP!!!

So had to counter our plan....sent out messages saying that time move to 11pm. We were just hoping he would reach in time.

So, obviously many could not make it but still I was glad with the turn out.

We had J, Inderpal, Jagdeep, Phobin, Amreek, Manwant and my family.

When Neremal reached home they all his in the rooms...he was too busy thinking of what is there to eat, when the group came out and surprised him. YAY!

MY DEAR UNCLE

So many thoughts, in my head.
So many things, left unsaid.
You left that day, without a glance.
Never knowing God, wasn't giving you a second chance.
What was in your head, the last moments you had.
I hope you though happy thoughts, and not sad.
No one can evertake your place.
Your image in my heartwill never erase.
As you smile on me from up above.
My mind is still sadbut my heart is filled with love.
I love you dear uncle you meant the world to me.
I'll always make you proud of me you will see.

You can shed tears that I’ve gone or you can smile because I’ve lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that I’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all I’ve left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see me
or you can be full of the love we shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember me and only that I’ve gone
or you can cherish my memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what I’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Tuhi Tuhi followed by Sharan's Birthday Surprise

Manpreet Singh from UK or also known as Tuhi Tuhi was down, so I brough J to experience the kirtan in PJ Gurdwara. She enjoyed it... After that we all went to A&W waiting for Sharan to reach there and surprise her. She was with shaheena wandering around. She had a surprise when she saw more that 20 people in A&W to surprise her. Then we had the cake, 1 chocolate and another home made ice cream slurpy cake. Since Sharan loved ice so much, neremal made for her one special cake. She loved both the cakes. She had chocolate all over her face......gosh!!!

Assa di waar & Sukhmani at Arina's

Arina, sweet gal.... I didn't know Parvin was her brother at first. HE HE. Well I would like to thank them for inviting me and my bro to their house for the prayers.

This was actually the first time I really sat in participated in Assa Di Waar with Indy Miri and gang. I never knew what was going on...just used to come sleepy...and hear. In Arina's place it was the first time I actually had a booklet and I get to sing along. Well sometimes I sang along and sometimes I just read the translation. I tend to do that a lot while kirtan too. =)

I taught I was late but I guess I was just in time...Assa Di Waar went well and fantastic..I really enjoyed it. Oh ya then we had peronthey...YUMMY...Then Sukhmani Sahib ... Well I tried to follow as much as I can....but me no expert. =(

Some kirtan then...If I remember correctly, Raja and Arina did. After that..langgar was servered...food was really good.

Oh ya ... after that we had some cleaning up session...I was too hyped up so I stayed back to help and got to chit chat with the family. Oh ya get to see Parvin the hardworking son in action too....

Don't know when Arina is gonna get back and call us again to her home...HEHE

Hopefully I can improve my morning waking up time and go attend some Assa Di Waar in the future.
