Poop oh Poop

Since I have been having a bad diarrhea... this article caught my eye!!! So please take note of your POOP!!!

What causes people to poop right after eating?

People may sometimes feel the urge to poop immediately after eating. When this happens, the person may feel as though the food is passing straight through them. However, this is not the case.

In fact, it can take 1–2 days before food finishes its journey through a person's digestive tract. Therefore, a person who poops shortly after eating is likely to be passing food that they ate a day or two earlier.

The most likely cause of needing to poop right after eating is the gastrocolic reflex. This reflex is a normal involuntary reaction to food entering the stomach. However, the intensity of the gastrocolic reflex can vary among individuals.

In this article, we outline what happens during the gastrocolic reflex and discuss the conditions that can increase its intensity. We also explain the dietary and lifestyle factors that can help reduce the urge to poop right after eating.

Why does it happen, and is it normal?

It can take 1–2 days for food to pass through the digestive tract.
The gastrocolic reflex, or gastrocolic response, is a normal involuntary reaction to food entering the stomach.

When food enters this organ, the body releases a hormone that causes the colon to contract. These contractions move previously eaten food further through the digestive system, which can result in the urge to pass stool.

For some people, the gastrocolic reflex is mild, causing no symptoms. For others, the gastrocolic reflex is intense, and the urge to poop after eating can be particularly severe.

Conditions that can affect the gastrocolic reflex

Certain health conditions can affect the gastrocolic reflex. For example, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can cause a person's digestive tract to move food through their system at a much faster rate.

Other conditions that could cause a person to pass stool more quickly than average include:

food allergies and food intolerances
anxiety
gastritis
celiac disease
inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
Crohn's disease

Each of the above conditions may increase the intensity of the gastrocolic reflex, resulting in an urge to poop soon after eating. They may also give rise to additional digestive symptoms, such as:

bloating that subsides after passing gas or stool
a frequent need to pass gas
abdominal pain or discomfort
mucus in the stool
diarrhea
constipation
alternating diarrhea and constipation

Gastrocolic reflex vs. fecal incontinence

Diarrhea is a possible cause of fecal incontinence.
Another potential cause of feeling the urge to poop is fecal incontinence. The condition may range in severity from mild to a complete loss of bowel control.

Fecal incontinence is relatively easy to differentiate from the effects of an intense gastrocolic response to food. Specifically, fecal incontinence can occur at any time. It does not only occur after eating.

A person may develop fecal incontinence for several different reasons, including:

diarrhea
nerve damage in the rectum
damaged muscles in the rectum
damaged rectal walls
rectocele
rectal prolapse

People who are concerned that they may have fecal incontinence should visit their doctor for a diagnosis. A doctor can explain the many different ways to treat and manage fecal incontinence.

Gastrocolic reflex vs. diarrhea after eating

An episode of diarrhea following a meal is unlikely to relate to the person's gastrocolic reflex.

Diarrhea is a common condition that typically only lasts a day or two. However, diarrhea that lasts for a week or more could indicate an underlying health issue.

Some common causes of persistent diarrhea include:

excessive consumption of artificial sweeteners and other laxatives
foodborne bacteria and parasites
food intolerances
food allergies
digestive disorders
viral infection
previous abdominal surgery, such as gallbladder removal

When to see a doctor

The gastrocolic reflex is a normal reaction to food entering the stomach. In most cases, feeling the urge to poop after eating does not warrant a visit to the doctor.

However, a person should see their doctor if they experience the following:

intense and frequent gastrocolic responses to food
diarrhea lasting longer than 2 days
additional gastric symptoms
The above symptoms could indicate a possible underlying health issue.

Treatment and prevention

As the gastrocolic reflex is a normal bodily reaction, it does not technically require treatment. However, there are steps that people can take to help reduce the intensity of the gastrocolic reflex and the associated urge to poop.

Seek treatment for underlying digestive conditions
People should see a doctor if other gastric symptoms accompany the urge to poop after eating.

Depending on the duration and severity of these symptoms, a doctor may carry out tests to diagnose any underlying health conditions.

If a condition is present, treating it may help reduce the intensity of the gastrocolic reflex.

Changing the diet

A change in diet may help treat an intense gastrocolic response.
Some foods are more likely than others to cause an intense gastrocolic response. These include:

fatty or greasy foods
dairy products
foods high in fiber
Keeping a food diary can help a person identify foods that may be intensifying their gastrocolic response. The diary should contain a record of the foods that the person eats, as well as their digestive response to the foods.

Once the person has identified a possible trigger food, they should temporarily avoid the food to see whether their symptoms improve.

Managing stress

For some people, stress can increase the intensity of the gastrocolic reflex. These individuals may benefit from activities that help reduce stress. Examples include exercise and meditation.

Summary

Passing stool immediately after a meal is usually the result of the gastrocolic reflex, which is a normal bodily reaction to food entering the stomach.

Almost everyone will experience the effects of the gastrocolic reflex from time to time. However, its intensity can vary from person to person. Certain lifestyle factors can help reduce the urge to poop following a meal.

People should see a doctor if they frequently experience diarrhea or other gastric symptoms following a meal. These symptoms could indicate an underlying health issue that requires medical attention.

Time Passes So Fast

Time

So many memories,
some cherished,
some forgotten,
and some fading away slowly.

When I look back, I feel like in a glimpse, I was married, had a son and then had a daughter.

Life is good and I have Waheguru to thank. May you the Almighty keep showering us your blessings

Be happy

Everyone in this world has a choice to live a happy life... It is one selfs own decision and does not depend on others... It does not matter if you are rich or poor... It does not matter if you are sick or healthy... It does not matter if your life is filled with obstacles or life has been easy...

If one's own decision to own it and be content. Being happy is actually to most simplest act you can do to have a wonderful blessed life. Some may call it as being positive... Some may call it humility... Some may call it carefree...

Everything is interlinked and your daily actions can be affected.

All life is precious...'hahaha quoted from walking dead'.

All happens for a reason...

When someone says 'Hey your shoe laces are untied?' Your reaction makes a big difference, even thou it's just a small matter as such.

It can go wrong in many ways if you let you mind wander or I call it think too much about it.

BEING DEFENSIVE, I know they are untied! I was about to tie them!
Does not mean you said these words but the taught of it already affects you. I mean if you responded something like that then lagi la teruk... you not only impact yourself but the next person...

Oh WAIT!!! correction... even though you did not say it, but taught of it, I believe it will impact both...

Vibes given to the other..I truly believe in this

The secret...

So how do we control this... I have yet to learn =P

Hey Hey Hey I'm back...
Yes Yes Yes, I am serious about jump starting back my blog. Of course I can't be doing it daily, I will try my best at least once a week or better more =).

Hmmm... Motivate myself...
That is my aim this year!!!

I have had many ideas and thought on how to improve but I have never been so strict on following them. In other words I had many help in the distraction sections....He he he
So this time I am going to write it down in my blog and keep track as many times as I can...

I will start by stating my initial goals:

GOAL 1: Exercise everyday even though it comprises of a few stretches and no; house work does not qualify; well except washing then bathroom, mopping the house, gardening, and etc. =P

GOAL 2: Pray everyday; will target for morning Japji Sahib at least... It really gives a lot of peace

GOAL 3: Drink lots of water; I tend to forget this to the MAX...

Stage 1 Weight Loss: 13 kgs...

I have many more goals but I will start of with these 3...
Let's see how I do ...

Day 1 (18 Aug 2014) - Exercise check; Pray check; Water check

Day 1 looking good, hope I can keep this up daily. The reason I want to do these is one main reason, getting healthy, I am not on any medication but have been monitoring my bp and diabetic...which have been high recently. The only thing I am pending to do is get batteries for my weighing machine.

Dang dang dang,.....my WEIGHT has been over over over PHEW!!!...
I feel much better then a few months ago but not sure how much I lost since my pregnancy and miscarriage.

If I loose this 13 kgs... I would be lighter than I was ever in more than 5 years.

Our Song - Jugni Ji Chambay di Booti

I am not sure if any of you know what is our (me and my husband's) favorite song. If you had attended my wedding I think you would know. Surprisingly it is not the song me and my husband danced on at the wedding reception. He had planned to dance on Tujme Rab Dikhta but ended with a different song.

Our song is definitely forever Jugni Ji Chambay Di Booti !!! I LOVE IT!!!

Deciphering Dreams...

DrEaMs...

Images, Ideas, Emotions, Sensations...

Dreams occur involuntarily in the mind and the content and purpose of dreams are not definitively understood. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology. Before we go into trying to understand our dream let's understand our sleep.

Our sleep cycle consists of 4 stages that lasts about 90-120 minutes and repeats themselves throughout the night. This does not include the part when we are falling asleep or may I say getting into sleep.

Stage 1: Light Sleep - body preparing itself to get to deep sleep
NREM - Non-Rapid eye movement, muscle relaxation, lowered body temperature and slowed heart rate

Stage 2: Completely Asleep
NREM, further drop in temperature & muscle relaxation, immune system starts repairing the day's damages and endocrine glands secrete growth hormones.

Stage 3: Deep Sleep
NREM, and metabolic levels get extremely slow.

Stage 4: REM Sleep - restoration, revitalized and emotions being fine tuned
REM - Rapid eye movement, blood pressure rises, heart rate speeds up, respiration become erratic, brain activity increases, involuntary muscles become paralyzed.

Dream happens mostly in the REM Stage, if you are awakened during this stage, you are likely to remember your dream. A person can have several different dreams per night as this cycle repeats as many as 7 times. Some people believe that they simply do not dream, when in reality they just don't remember.

Dreams are seen as a connection to the unconscious. They range from normal and ordinary to overly surreal and bizarre. Dreams can have varying natures, such as frightening, exciting, magical, melancholic, adventurous, or sexual. The events in dreams are generally outside the control of the dreamer, with the exception of lucid dreaming, where the dreamer is self-aware. Dreams can at times make a creative thought occur to the person or give a sense of inspiration.

So what do our dreams actually mean???
Since 5000BC, people have tried to decipher them...
Dreams are direct messages from god or the dead and that they predicted the future!
Dream are manifestations of our deepest desires and anxieties!

Let's see what the experts has to say...

Alfred Adler (1870 -1937) believes that dreams are an important tool to mastering control over your waking lives. They are problem-solving devices.  Dreams need to be brought to the conscious and interpreted so that better understanding can be shed on your problems. It is important to learn from your dreams and incorporate them into your waking life. Adler believes that there is a correlation between your dreams and the problems in your daily life. The more dreams you have, the more problems you are likely to have. Conversely, the less dreams you have, the less problems you have and the more psychologically healthy you are.

Adler's views on dreams are that they are an open pathway toward your true thoughts, emotions and actions. In your dreams, you clearly see your aggressive impulses and desires. Dreams are also a way of overcompensating for the shortcomings in your waking life. For example, if you are unable to stand up to your boss in your waking life, then you may find it easier to lash out at the boss within the comfort and safety of your dream. Dreams offer some sort of satisfaction that is more socially acceptable.

Considered the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) revolutionizes the study of dreams with his work The Interpretation Of Dreams. Freud begins to analyze dreams in order to understand aspects of personality as they relate to pathology.  He believes that nothing you do occurs by chance; every action and thought is motivated by your unconscious at some level. In order to live in a civilized society, you have a tendency to hold back our urges and repress our impulses.

One way these urges and impulses are released is through your dreams. Because the content of the unconscious may be extremely disturbing or harmful, Freud believes that the unconscious expresses itself in a symbolic language. Freud categorizes aspects of the mind into three parts:
Id - centered around primal impulses, pleasures, desires, unchecked urges and wish fulfillment.
Ego - concerned with the conscious, the rational, the moral and the self-aware aspect of the mind.
Superego - the censor for the id, which is also responsible for enforcing the moral codes of the ego. When you are awake,  the impulses and desires of the id are suppressed by the superego. Through dreams, you are able to get a glimpse into your unconscious or the id. Because your guards are down during the dream state, your unconscious has the opportunity to act out and express the hidden desires of the id. However, the desires of the id can, at times, be so disturbing and even psychologically harmful that a "censor" comes into play and translates the id's disturbing content into a more acceptable symbolic form. This helps to preserve sleep and prevent you from waking up shocked at the images. As a result, confusing and cryptic dream images occur.
According to Freud, the reason you struggle to remember your dreams, is because the superego is at work. It is doing its job by protecting the conscious mind from the disturbing images and desires conjured by the unconscious.

Calvin S. Hall, Jr. (1909-1985) focuses his study of dreams on the content, aptly referred to as content analysis. Because dreams are in essence thoughts, it is a cognitive process. Dreams provide a map or route to the inaccessible regions in your mind, otherwise known as the unconscious. Hall believes dreams are the best way to discovering personal thoughts and to explain your behavior. Dreams reveal things about yourself, not hide them. Hall categorizes dreams into one of five principle areas of life.
1. Concepts of Self refer to the types or number of roles you play in your dreams.
2. Concepts of other people are the roles other people play in your dreams. Consider your feelings toward them and how you interact with them.
3. Concepts of the world represent the dream surrounding and landscape. The adjectives you use to describe your dreamscape is how you view the world.
4. Concepts of impulses, prohibitions and penalties indicate your behavior and how it is ruled by impulses and punishment.
5. Concepts of problems and conflicts symbolize your struggles, issues and problems you are facing in your waking life. These dream try to offer insight and resolution to your conflicts.
By utilizing these five concepts, Hall believes that you will be able to analyze the dream content and trace your way toward the inner workings of your unconscious.

Like his mentor Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1960) also believes in the existence of the unconscious. However, he does not see the unconscious as animalistic, instinctual, or sexual; he sees it as more spiritual. Eventually, Jung split with Freud due to their differing views on dreams.
According to Jung, dreams are a way of communicating and acquainting yourself with the unconscious. Dreams are not attempts to conceal your true feelings from the waking mind, but rather they are a window to your unconscious. They serve to guide the waking self to achieve wholeness and offer a solution to a problem you are facing in your waking life.
Jung views the ego as your sense of self and how you portray yourself to the world.  Part of Jung's theory is that all  things can be viewed as paired opposites: good/evil, male/female, or love/hate. So working in opposition to the ego, is the "counterego" or what he refers to as the shadow.  The shadow represents the rejected aspects of yourself that you do not wish to acknowledge. The shadow is more primitive, somewhat uncultured,  and a little awkward.
Frederick Perls (1893-1970) iss  the founder of Gestalt therapy.  Gestalt therapy seeks to fill your emotional voids so that you can then become a unified whole. Perls believes that dreams contain the rejected, disowned parts of the Self. Every character and every object in a dream represents an aspect of the Self. You are the hurricane, you are the attacker, you are the broken down car, you are the bridge, and you are the dusty book. Perls rejects the notion that dreams are part of a universal symbolic language. He believes that each dream is unique to the individual who dreams it.
In order to discover what aspect of yourself is being disowned, Perls believes that it is important to retell your dream in the present tense and act it out accordingly. It is important to verbalize how each and every component in your dream felt, even inanimate objects. Reenact the dream and take on the role of the different characters and objects. Start a dialogue with the dream object and express how you felt toward each other.  By taking on a different  role within your dream and reenact it, you may then be able to acknowledge and realize feelings that you may have overlooked or buried. Your dream literally comes alive.

Now the best part...

Here are some common recurring dream motifs and their interpretation:

Pursuit or attack.

The hunter represents a part of ourselves we are afraid of. An extreme version of unacceptable part of our personality, which will benefit us if we expressed it appropriately.

Free fall.

Feel heavy, lack of support, worry about something? How to feel free, lightweight? Maybe we should ‘land’ in reality?

Car out of control.

Is life too fast? Are we losing control of things? How can we get things more slowly and just calmly enjoy the trip?

Unprepared, late, failure to test.

Feel unprepared for an approaching event? Do we worry without reason or really want more preparation to feel more confident and do a good job?

Feeling unable to speak or move.

We feel that we are trapped in our lives with no way out. It goes nowhere and we can’t act according to our true feelings.

Shame of being naked in public, although nobody seems to notice it.

In which part of our life do we feel lack of confidence and skills? The fact that others do not notice our shame means that only we see ourselves like this and usually are wrong about it.

Trapped, locked in.

When do we feel trapped/stuck in life? How to create a new perspective and explore new ways to act?

Unable to see people’s faces but knowing who they are.

This pattern may have several interpretations. It may refer to ourselves, symbolizing the search of our identity, the process of exploring our own personality.
Also it may reflect our relations with other people: feeling alone in the crowd, unable to reach understanding with other people, feeling different from them. According to Sigmund Freud, faces in dreams represent the individuality of people. Seeing the world without faces in our dreams, we deprive the others of their individuality due to our fears, lack of confidence, problems we face dealing with people in our life. It works as a defence mechanism which helps us avoid being hurt by others.

Being lost, unable to reach a destination or fulfill a task.

Dreams of being lost and unable to find the way somewhere speak of frustration. Sometimes we want something or someone to go/act in a certain way, but they don’t. It certainly brings us disappointment and frustration.
Moreover, such kind of dreams may have to do with the feeling of ‘losing’ ourselves. Perhaps, it may be connected with a significant change in our life (for example, a loss of something or someone important for us) or we just feel ‘following a wrong path’. Sometimes our subconscious tries to tell us that what we do is not what we really want from life.

Wait No More

Years had I waited,
Longing for love to come my way...
Weeks did I take,
To realize that he is finally here...
Days could not wait then,
To let us bond together...

~salprith~

My mom used to say when the right guy comes along, everything will just happen in a sudden and you will be hitched before you know it. I wondered if that would happen. I never could have imagined how it would just fall into place like it just did in my life... My Love is Finally Here!!!

Though it's just been a month...I could grow old with you my dear...

Movie: Immortals

Immortals is a 2011 3D fantasy action film directed by Tarsem Singh (who also in the past directed Cell starring J.Lo and assisted in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt) and starring...

the handsome Henry Cavill

Freida Pinto (who acted in Slumdog Millionaire)

and Mickey Rourke (the villain in the movie).

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares. Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king's hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man's conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion...until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope. Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes...

I personally find the story interesting except the ending which ultimately gods had to come into the fight and fought extremely stupidly, what else I expected more from gods... =D

Looking for love...

Time, time and time passed by
I waited anxiously to meet my mate
The one who was made to be for me
The one who I will cherish forever.

High and low
Near and far
Searching and hoping
To end the wait.

Eyes so tired and damp
As many just passed by
God was kind as he not let me hurt
As he knew they were not right.

Keeping in the heart
Love and faith in god
On day the day will come
When I and he shall meet.

Break vs Vacation

Vacation is what you take when you can't take what you've been taking any longer.
